What is an Autoresponder anyway?
Maybe you’ve seen fax-on-demand systems where you call from your fax machine and dial a certain code and you’ll get back a document in your fax machine? Or called a system where you use voice commands to get your bank balance. Well, an email autoresponder, instead of voice or fax uses emails to guide the system. You can program an autoresponder to send specific emails, or a series of emails, to a prospect or customer when they express interest by entering subscribing to your list.
You can even schedule a series of emails on a particular topic. As a matter of fact, an email series is 100x more effective then sending a single email. For example, email #1 might go out immediately, then email #2 goes out 2 days afterwards, the next email #3 goes out on day 5, then day 8 comes another email, etc, etc
Why is an Autoresponder necessary?
Email is an important aspect of marketing but a single email is rarely enough and actually can be more costly down the road. Like all marketing messages, it takes repetition in order to get people to first absorb the message, understand it and then take action. Naturally, some people will immediately respond while others need to see the message more than once before they even think about responding to the offer.
